OUR SUSTAINABILITY

When we planted our vineyards in Boca Chica, in San José de Maipo, the land was covered with quillay trees. These remarkable trees are protected by the Chilean government: if one is removed, ten must be planted in its place. By preserving most of them, the vineyards became uniquely adorned. Living in harmony with our environment is not only necessary—it is meaningful and precious.

The environment is not only agricultural; it is social. Planting at the La Golondrina estate in the Malleco Valley was a true challenge due to the extreme conditions—conditions that also caused many residents of Quino, the nearest town, to migrate in search of better opportunities.

Although it is somewhat melancholic to see abandoned remnants, like the rusted bridge of the old railway, we believed in the potential of this special volcanic terroir. Reintroducing attractive crops brought back work, community, and a renewed zest for life. It is in extreme conditions that great effort meets great results.

Condor Protection Foundation

The Andean condor has always been a symbol of this remote mountainous region. We loved adopting it in our logo, with pure and simple shapes—a perfect way to reflect authenticity: who we truly are, where we are, and our holistic vision of what we want to achieve.

It is natural for us to share this vision with the Condor Protection Foundation. Initiatives like these shape the unique character of our community, Pirque.

San Juan school

Before 1980, there was not even a road along the south bank of San Juan. That year, the land was donated—not only for this much-needed road, but also to build the only local school. Today, more than 100 children grow there mentally and physically, like Maxi, who, along with his two siblings and parents, are the guardians of Boca Chica.

Volvimos a sonreír.

Houses for Employees

Just as leaving quillay trees in Boca Chica adorned the vineyard, the houses within our Tongorito vineyard enhance it even more. If the land has given us so much to produce such great wines, how could we not share a part of it with those who work it? A beautiful scene that repeats across all our estates.

Ecological Contribution

1,600 hectares of native forest

We conserve the flora and fauna of the mountains bordering the Maipo River within our property. This concept of mountain flora is reflected in many of our labels, such as CHACAI (blackthorn in Mapudungún, the local language), a type of acacia found in these Chilean landscapes.
